The constitution rightly protects your right to own a firearm, but there are many ways to get into trouble by being unwise with your gun. Being armed is an important way to defend yourself from the menaces of corrupt people. But to carry a firearm or conceal a firearm in Arizona you must have an AZ CCW Permit.
To obtain this permit, you must go through a curriculum which will educate you on the know-how and legal aspects of gun use. The CCW AZ SCHOOL gives a thorough education as to the different aspects of using your Concealed Weapons Permit Arizona. You will be educated about gun use, the rules you must follow with your permit and eventually you will get your Concealed Carry Permit. Not all of these courses are required for obtaining your permit and you can pick and choose. But the more education a person has about fire arm use, the less trouble they could get into.
The first course available is a basic introduction to firearms. It involves all you need to know to start and be safe. This three hour course is designed for individuals with little handgun experience. It covers handgun safety, different types of handguns, ammunition, loading and unloading, accuracy with firearms session, and live fire exercise.
The next course is quite short, only an hour. Here it covers the new Concealed Carry law. All the know-how you need when carrying a concealed weapon and the legal issues relating to the use of deadly force.
The next step in the course curriculum gets you your CCW permit, good in 36 states. This course involves classroom and range time, the main goal is to learn to shoot a certain pistol type. Safe gun handling, ammunition and shooting fundamentals are all covered in this section.
Next, is a course for safe gun handling and home firearm safety. This section focuses on the elements needed to know for keeping yourself and your family perfectly safe from accidents with a firearm at home. The main areas learnt are; proper storage techniques, education for family members, and in-home gun safety rules.
After that, a six hour comprehensive CCW AZ class is available. This is for people who wish for an incredibly thorough education for the use of their permit. Covered in this class are the fine points of marksmanship and gun ownership. Those who attend will also learn about the situations which it is legal to get involved and use your weapon. Besides that, ethics and moral obligations are explored and discussed.
The last course available is a thirty minute conference call. This is also for non- residents in the USA who want reciprocity in over 30 states.
With these fine amounts of courses to choose from, there is not excuse to forget to arm yourself with knowledge before arming yourself with a gun.
