Animal Reiki

By: Fredericka Alphonzo, Mon Jun 11th, 2012

Animal Reiki is not just restricted to healing human beings. It can also be used on animals and any other living being. This is precisely the reason there is an increase in the number of people who are considering learning animal Reiki. Most of these people might be facing problems with their own pet animals, and others would just like to learn this scientific art.

There is a connection between animal Reiki and animal communication. Many people believe that with Reiki, many practitioners are able to communicate with the animal effectively. These people can understand the feelings and thoughts of the animals more clearly when compared to ordinary people. However, communicating with animals and animal Reiki are not same and they are two completely different procedures.

Animal communication is the art of creating a dialogue with the animal and trying to understand what the animal wants to say. The animal communicator not just interacts with the animals but he also provides feedback to the pet owner. Through the feedback, the owner of the pet knows what is happening with his animal and how should he be handling it in the future. Animal communicators work in the best interest of both the animal as well as the owner.

With animal Reiki, there is not much of communication between the provider and the animal. The main objective over here is to transfer energy into the animal's body and heal some of its underlying problems. The best thing about Reiki is that one would not have to diagnose or understand the problem of the animal. Reiki has the potential to diagnose the condition on its own and also provide the necessary energy to cure the problem. There would not be any information received during the procedure; however, there are chances of the healer knowing when the treatment has to be stopped. This is probably the only form of communication between the healer's hands and the body of the animal. The goal of Reiki is not pet communication, it is healing. If there is any form of communication during the process, then that has to be taken as a bonus. The goal of any Reiki treatment is relaxation and free flow of energy inside the body. There should be no expectations or attachments to healing.

Reiki is an art that builds on people, and the more they practice the art, the more they get accustomed to it and are able to learn its various nuances. There is lot of intuition attached to Reiki and individuals who associate Reiki with benefits would not be able to enter the intuitive space. Anyways, intuitive feelings do not indicate that the Reiki treatment on the animal was successful; it just means that there was a connection developed. A feeling of relaxation and relief from stress in the animal are the indications of a successful Reiki treatment.
