In one small town there is a bar/restaurant with the best steaks around, popular for over 40 years. It is now run by the widow of the previous owner. He died on his way home after a demanding shift. His ghost is known to roam the restaurant on regular basis. I have personally experienced a large metal lid on a soup tureen simply fly off the pot. Other guest say they see a shadow ghost (unlike typical ghosts these spirits are without human features) pass by the corridors to the restroom. One regular waitress says he often comes into the bathroom when she’s there, and she has to shoo him away. This ghost only serves to increase business; everyone loves the idea of sharing stories of this popular business man and chef.
If you have loved ghost stories from your earliest campfire memories, if you fondly remember freaking out your friends and yourself by telling spooky tales at sleepovers, you probably still enjoy a good eerie tale or urban legend of aliens and unexplained mysteries. Except for a few dull doubters and the unimaginative, most folks love a good unexplained mystery.
Television shows, movies, and books abound about the paranormal, and people can’t get enough. Unexplained mysteries fall into several categories, among them: ghost stories and hauntings, mysterious places, locals of bizarre and baffling events, UFO’s and aliens, dreams and premonitions, mediums, telekinesis and psycokinesis, and finally ancient mysteries such as the pyramids, King Arthur, and Easter Island. Many legends and myths surround the myriad of topics included in unexplained mysteries.

A number of the inexplicable events can be explained by viewing the happenings through the eyes of history and science. For example, religious or cultural customs account for some of the unexplainable occurrences; rituals and tales served as controlling actions or to ‘cover your bases’ in the next life. Sometimes a good poltergeist rumor gets turned into fact. Other times…
